ALEX WELLS returned in 2004 for his fifth season directing for Culver City Public Theatre, helming Hay Fever.  The previous year he directed Oedipus Rex by Sophocles with original music for the chorus composed by Cesar Benito and in 2002 he helmed the Italian renaissance classic comedy, The Deceived by Gl'Intronati Di Siena, and in the past summers, Plautus' The Braggart Soldier and Henry Fielding's Tom Thumb.

Alex is also a member of the Classical Theatre Lab in West Hollywood, where he serves as Artistic Coordinator and directed a staged reading of A Woman Killed With Kindness by Thomas Heywood in February.  Last year, Alex played Oscar Wilde/Lord Goring in a critically acclaimed production of Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband as Victorian noir at the Met Theatre in Hollywood.

Although not currently a member, Alex currently serves on the Culver City Public Theatre Artistic Advisory Board.
