Lauren Bruniges, President
Lauren is an actress, theatrical producer, lover of stage & screen, and also has a background in non-profits. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a BA in Theatre Arts with an Acting Emphasis. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles in 2010 and has been active in the local arts theatre scene ever since. Lauren was in her first CCPT production, “The Golden Bird and the Dancing Princesses” back in 2015 and joined the board shortly afterwards. After serving as the Vice President since 2017, she is thrilled to be stepping up into the role of President & to have such a fantastic new slate of board members. Outside of her artistic pursuits, she is also responsible for designing and implementing a wide variety of innovative learning solutions for leading organizations worldwide at UCLA Anderson Executive Education. She lives in West Hollywood with her Scottish Fold cat Effie and in her spare time enjoys experimenting with new instant pot recipes, reading in her hammock and writing poetry on her typewriter.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sophie Bell, Vice President
Sophie in an actress, mime, swing dancer and lover of Shakespeare. Growing up in New Orleans provided an ample theatrical lifestyle. Sophie has been onstage since age three, from twirling around in NOLA ballets to miming at Jazz Fest. She has a BFA in Actor's Training from The Hartt School and she's been living, acting, and miming in Los Angeles for the past eight years.
Sophie was first introduced to CCPT as an actress in their 2019 summer children’s show, Rosalynd and the Falcon. She is delighted to be working with the CCPT team.
Trace Oakley, 2 Vice President
TRACE OAKLEY is delighted to serve on the Board of Directors for CCPT, having directed their production of his original play, THE MANITOU HOUSE in 2019 and 2018's PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. Trace has directed more than 60 productions, and has more than 100 additional productions to his credit as either actor, playwright, producer, or administrator, working in his home town of Denver, on both coasts, and on national and international tours. Trace worked on the Off-Broadway and Broadway productions of ROLLIN’ ON THE TOBA, and later stage managed and co-directed the Los Angeles production. He received a United Nations medal for distinguished service for his U.S. Department of Defense touring production, HOLLYWOOD HOMICIDE WHODUNNIT, which performed at military bases throughout Europe. He served as artistic director for Denver’s famed Chicken Lips Comedy Theatre. Trace is the proud co-founder of the Proof Doubt Closer Theatre Company, now in its fifth year.
Alexis Long, Secretary / Treasurer
Alexis Long is thrilled to join the board of CCPT as treasurer and secretary. She performed in CCPT’s 2019 production of “The Wonderful World of Dissocia” and many online performances with the company since quarantine. Originally from Houston, Texas, Alexis works as a registered nurse in LA and lives with her partner Forrest and their cat Napoleon. Alexis has had training in theatre and film acting in New York, Houston and Los Angeles. She has performed in showcases off-Broadway, theatre productions in Houston and many small film and TV roles in Los Angeles. She is looking forward to the future of CCPT and working with so many creative and talented individuals to help cultivate an inclusive, diverse and approachable theatre experience for all. On her days off you can find her reading, trying new artisanal cheese and wine pairings, binge watching TV or failing miserably at yoga.
Scott Hillegas, Board Member
Graduating from Clayton State University in Atlanta, GA with a B.A. in Theatre, Scott found himself dabbling in anything that involved a creative message. From directing and improvisational acting to stage rigging and stage management, Scott shows up with a burrow of talent in any aspect of theatre. He joined the Culver City Public Theatre team in 2018 and continued doing what he does best, bringing stories to life through a creative collaborative process.
